LOS ANGELES – January 25, 2022 --Alec Baldwin and his company El Dorado Pictures, along with Cavalry Audio, the podcast division of Cavalry Media, announced today it is partnering on the new true crime podcast, ART FRAUD – a co-production with iHeartRadio. The 8-episode series chronicles the fall of the one of the oldest, and most revered, galleries in New York City: The Knoedler. Narrated by Baldwin and containing never-before-heard interviews with the mastermind behind the years long con, ART FRAUD goes deep to paint the clearest picture yet about the greatest deception in the history of American art.  The podcast is being marketed and distributed by the iHeartPodcast Network and will premiere on February 1 with subsequent episodes released weekly on iHeartRadio and all major podcast listening platforms.

Written by Michael Shnayerson and based on his Vanity Fair article, ART FRAUD chronicles the fall The Knoedler Gallery, one of the one of the oldest, and most revered, galleries in New York City. In operation since 1846 and home to some of the cities greatest artists, the gallery’s fortune changed the moment an unassuming woman walked through the door with a canvas under her arm allegedly painted by the Abstract Expressionist master Mark Rothko. So began a 17 year relationship that would result in the sale of nearly 40 paintings from the likes of Motherwell, de Kooning and Jackson Pollack totaling more than 80 million dollars. The only problem was that they were all fake.

Baldwin, Shnayerson will serve as Executive Producers along with Cavalry Media’s Matt DelPiano, Andy Terner and Keegan Rosenberger. Branden Morgan, Senior Podcast Producer at Cavalry Audio, serves as producer with Zach McNees as well as Nikki Ettore and Lindsay Hoffman for the iHeartPodcast Network. Cavalry Audio recently found success with the release of its true crime podcast The Devil Within which premiered worldwide at #3 on Apple Podcasts, as well as #1 in Australia, Canada and the UK. It currently carries with it 3.5 million downloads to date and is being adapted into both a scripted and non-scripted television formats.

ART FRAUD is the latest in the line of successful podcast releases, including Here’s The Thing with Alec Baldwin, Daddy Issues with Joe Buck & Oliver Hudson, Modasucka with Michael Blackson, Can You Survive This Podcast? with Clint Emerson, Forever Young, Good Risings, and VERDICT, its first scripted podcast.
