New York – May 15, 2024 –iHeartMedia and P&G will once again join forces during Pride Month for the return of Can’t Cancel Pride - an evening recognizing the impact of both music and LGBTQ+ organizations have on the community. The fifth annual special event will feature performances by Elton John Impact Award Recipient and host Billy Porter, Allison Russell, Ben Platt, David Archuleta, Meghan Trainor, Melissa Etheridge, Orville Peck, RAYE, Victoria Monét and more on June 12 from the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles and remote locations across the country.

This year, Billy Porter will be honored with the Elton John Impact Award for his unwavering activism fighting for equity and liberation for marginalized people around the globe. Billy is a leader in the advancement of civil rights, access to education, the right to vote, and HIV/AIDS awareness, and has worked with and been recognized by organizations like the Elton John AIDS Foundation, Human Rights Campaign, GLAAD, Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS, the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, The Brotherhood Sister Sol, Outright International and the Matthew Shepard Foundation. Previous recipients of this award include Elton John and Brandi Carlile.

The event recognizes the trailblazers creating positive change across different areas of society while providing much needed visibility and funding for six LGBTQ+ organizations – CenterLink, GLAAD, National Black Justice Coalition, Outright International, The Trevor Project and SAGE –  to continue the transformative work they are accomplishing in support of the LGBTQ+ community. Now in its fifth year, the event will celebrate the profound impact of music, a unifying force that can drive society toward more equality and acceptance for all.

Can’t Cancel Pride was created during the COVID-19 pandemic when so many Pride events around the world were forced to cancel, limiting LGBTQ+ community visibility and decreasing fundraising activities for critical LGBTQ+ organizations. In its first four years, Can’t Cancel Pride has raised over 14 million dollars for six diverse LGBTQ+ charitable organizations. In 2023 alone, Can’t Cancel Pride reached over 23 million viewers and listeners.

“We are proud to celebrate Can’t Cancel Pride’s fifth birthday with another fantastic show that celebrates the intersection and unconditional power of music, message and inclusivity,” said Gayle Troberman, Chief Marketing Officer for iHeartMedia. “It’s incredible to see and hear the positive impact this franchise has on the community each year.”

With support from P&G brands including, Bounty®, Cascade®, Charmin®, Dawn®, Downy®, Febreze®, Gillette® Venus, Olay Body, Pantene®, Swiffer® and Tide®, the event is a month-long Pride celebration throughout June. iHeartMedia radio stations will air spots encouraging listeners to tune into the livestream on June 12 and watch the event on demand. Fans can follow along on social media using the hashtag #CantCancelPride and support the participating nonprofits by visiting cantcancelpride.com.

“Through Can’t Cancel Pride, we have been able to increase much-needed visibility and raise critical funding for six non-profit organizations, all of which are dedicated to promoting and advancing LGBTQ+ equality and acceptance,” said Brent Miller, Senior Director for Global LGBTQ+ Engagement at Procter & Gamble. “This special event brings people together to celebrate Pride and support these incredible organizations. Can’t Cancel Pride means so much to me personally and I'm tremendously proud of the impact we've been able to make over the last five years.”
